About the artist

Dennis Ashbaugh (b 1946, Red Oak, CA) is an internationally acclaimed painter and artist who lives and works in New York City. He has continually reinvented himself as contemporary society, and the issues facing it, evolve. Dominant themes of his work are computers, cloning, DNA, networks and both computer and biological viruses. He has exhibited widely, and his work is in public and private collections internationally, including the Brooklyn Museum, Hirschhorn Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, LACMA, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Microsoft Corporation, Museum of Modern Art in Tehran, SF MoMA, The Vatican, Whitney Museum of American Art, and many others.
